Navy has the toughest opening game of the three service academies. Marshall was very solid last season and the Herd has a young but talented quarterback in redshirt freshman Grant Wells. He threw for over 2,000 yards last season and had twice as many TD throws as picks. Marshall has 17 returning starters and Navy 15. This is going to be a tight game. In last season’s disaster, Navy had very limited preseason contact in practice. I think Navy will be better this season due to the players being better prepared. Navy pulls out a close one.
