CHALLENGES

A visit to South Bend to face Notre Dame presents Navy’s toughest challenge of the season. The Irish were a shoe in for a playoff spot until falling at Miami (Fla.) 41-8 last weekend. Now, with the Irish angry over seeing their playoff hopes dashed, the Mids must be at their best to stay in this game. Conversley, though, what better time to get the Irish than following a disapointing loss? Ken Niumatalolo is keeping the Irish staff guessing as to how the quarterback is going to be for Navy. Pick your posion. You get either get the more experienced Zach Abey or the raw talent of Malcolm Perry. Throw in the little known Garret Lewis just to make Irish preparations even harder. Navy has gone to South Bend and won before. This Mid squad is no juggernaut but they have the tools to pull off a stunner in Indiana.

Saturday’s game kicks off at 3:30 pm ET and can be seen on NBC.
